Why Coaching?

In daily life, change is inescapable. Whatever form it takes, be it abrupt or incremental, imposed or deliberately chosen, a change in career, financial status, health, friendship, or a birth or death in the family, change is stressful, and invariably presents new challenges. To improve our lives, we must actively embrace change, and as with much of life, an important key to success is the ability to draw on our creativity -- that's the secret to AMKC coaching.

While everyone has talents, not everyone knows how to use them effectively. Having original ideas isn't enough, ideas must ultimately lead to tangible results. Change, creativity, and coaching are stages of a process (life) evolving constantly. Change is the impetus, creativity allows us to view things in new ways, and coaching provides support.

Creativity helps focus our efforts so we can manage change each step of the way, especially when we encounter the unexpected. It opens up new doors, helps us walk through them, and better adapt to what we find on the other side. The underlying premiss of AMKC Coaching is that the client fundamentally knows what they need to do, but needs encouragement and support to help them move forward more effectively. Through challenges, encouragement, a reframing of perspectives, and celebration of progress, coaching helps to awaken our dormant creativity.

Coaching is about inner reflection. When we decide to get help, it is a choice which involves self-examination, moving forward based on discoveries we make about ourselves. There are many roads to self-awareness, and coaching is one of them. At AMKC, coaching is focused on change and founded on creativity. It offers the client a path from inspired ideas to practical achievements.

Coaching is a dialog focused entirely on the client. The client needs to extricate himself from an unsatisfying situation. He knows that he has to move on. He may not know where he is heading or how to get there. He may not have the means or the determination to leave. The coach helps him to explore, to imagine, to decide, to act. The coach poses questions, through his answers the client uncovers new options and avenues to explore. The dialog continues until decisions are made, an action plan implemented, and striking out in new directions celebrated.

Change, Creativity and Coaching:
  • Change is inevitable and should be embraced.
  • Creativity is not limited to the arts, but is found in all walks of life
  • Creativity is applicable to any degree of change, large or small
  • Creativity isn't just about ideas; it's also about achieving tangible results
  • Coaching helps to embrace and successfully navigate change
